Ingredients:


1/4 c Slivered almonds
4 ts Sugar
1/2 ts Grated orange peel
1 Pound carrots (6 to 7 medium
1/2 c Dried figs, cut into fourths
1 tb Margarine or butter,
Softened

Method:


A sweet, subtle combination of figs and caramelized almonds makes these.
Cook almonds, sugar and orange peel over low heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is melted and almonds are coated; cool.
Break almonds apart; reserve.
Prepare and cook carrot slices as directed - except add figs.
Mix all ingredients.
4 SERVINGS (ABOUT 3/4 CUP EACH); 190 CALORIES PER SERVING.
