Stewed Prunes
Ingredients:

lb
Prunes
1/2
Lemon, sliced
1/4
c
Sugar
Method:
Wash the prunes and soak them in cold water overnight.
In a heavy-bottomed, non-reactive pan cook slowly with lemon until tender.
Add sugar and cook 5 minutes longer.
Dried apricots or any other dried fruit may be prepared the same way and mixed with the prunes.
