Tamarind Uppma

Ingredients:


2 cups cream of rice
1 tsp tamarind paste
¼ tsp mustard
1 tsp urad dal
1 tsp channa dal
½ tsp methi
a small pinch hing
6 red chillies
¼ tsp turmeric
curry leaves
4 tsp cooking oil
1 tsp salt
6 cups water

Method:


Dry roast methi, and grind it into a powder and keep it aside.
Sauté mustard, urad dal, channa dal, hing, red chillies, and curry leaves
in oil. Add water to the above and allow it to cook for sometime.
Now add turmeric, salt and tamarind paste, and let it cook for sometime.
Put cream of rice and continue to stir until cream of rice gets cooked.
Lastly, put the ground methi powder.
