Parupu Orundai Kozambhu

Ingredients:


1 cup toovar dal
4 tsp channa dal
12 red chillies
imli water
2 tsp cooking oil
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp cumin seeds
¾ tsp methi
¼ tsp haldi
a small pinch hing
1 tsp salt to taste

Method:


Soak toovar dal and channa dal in water for 2 hours.
Soak 6 red chillies, 1 tsp salt, and hing in some water.
Grind the above two into a thick paste.
Put pepper, cumin seeds, and curry leaves to this.
Fry methi, 6 red chillies, and hing in little oil, and wet grind the above mixture.

Boil enough water with imli paste, salt and haldi so that you can add the balls
made out of toovar dal paste.
Put the methi mixture paste and boil this until the flavour comes out.
Make small balls out the toovar dal paste and add this to the boiling sambhar.
Cook for a few minutes and garnish with curry leaves.
