Cornish Hens W/glazed Oranges

1 1/4 c Light corn syrup
2 tb Margarine or butter
3 md Oranges
Glazed oranges
1/8 ts Paprika
1/4 ts Dry mustard
1/2 ts Salt
1 tb Honey
1/2 c Orange juice
Melted
2 tb Margarine or butter,
Pounds each)
1 tb Honey

Method:


Cornish hens are a compact crossbreed of Cornish game cocks and Plymouth.
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Place hens, breast sides up, on rack in shallow roasting pan.
Brush with margarine.
Roast uncovered 30 minutes.
Prepare Glazed Oranges (below).
Mix remaining ingredients.
Roast hens uncovered about 45 minutes longer, brushing occasionally with orange juice mixture, until juices runs clear.
Cut each hen in half along backbone from tail to neck with kitchen scissors.
Serve with Glazed Oranges.

TO GRILL: Cut hens lengthwise in half before grilling.
Cover and grill hens, bone sides down, 5 to 6 inches from medium coals 60 to 70 minutes, turning and brushing with orange juice mixture, until juices run clear.
GLAZED ORANGESCut ends off oranges.
Cut each orange into 1/8-inch slices.
Heat margarine in 12-inch skillet over medium heat until melted.
Stir in corn syrup and honey.
Heat to boiling.
Add oranges; reduce heat.
Simmer uncovered about 25 minutes, spooning sauce frequently over oranges, until oranges are tender and glazed.
