Method:
Pour dressing over lamb shanks in shallow glass dish.
Cover and refrigerate at least 5 hours, turning lamb occasionally.
Remove lamb from m reserve marinade.
Mix 1/2 cup cheese, the flour, parsley, salt and onion salt.
Coat lamb with cheese mixture, reserving remaining cheese mixture.
Heat shortening in 12-inch skillet or Dutch oven until melted.
Cook lamb in hot shortening, turning occasionally, until brown; reduce heat.
Sprinkle remaining cheese mixture over lamb.
Stir in reserved marinade.
Cover and simmer about 2-1/2 hours, turning lamb occasionally, until tender.
Serve with grated Parmesan cheese.
