Date Cream Cheese Rollups

Butter; or margarine,

Cream cheese; softened

Flour; all purpose

Pitted dates
Confectioners' sugar; sifted
Method:
Cream butter and cream cheese; add flour and salt, stirring until blended.
Divide dough into fourths; chill at least 2 hours.
Work with 1 portion of dough at a time, keeping remaining dough chilled until ready to use.
Roll 1 portion of dough to 1/8-inch thickness on a surface lightly dusted with confectioners' sugar.
Cut dough into 3x1-inch strips.
Place a date in center of each, and roll up strips jellyroll fashion, starting at short end.
Place rollups on ungreased cookie sheets, seam side down; bake at 375~ for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
Repeat with remaining dough.
Let roll-ups cool; sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar, if desired.
